Sophie Hatton
I lived and worked in London straight from University, working in Marketing and Events in the Travel and then Design industries for 10 years. It was injury and pregnancy that led me to Pilates back in 2002 and I was hooked from day one. Enjoying the movement, strengthening and mental focus that went with it.
In 2016 after 3 children, 4 major house moves and a crossroads in my life I embarked on my fully comprehensive Classical training under second generation Pilates teacher, Kirk Smith, at the Classical Pilates Centre in Cheshire. The commitment to training to become a Classical teacher is a dedication in itself and it took a year to complete the weekend courses and the additional 600 hours of teaching, observing and training.
In February 2019 I opened Pilates Works, and created a calm and sophisticated tower, reformer, mat and barre studio. We are the only Classical Pilates equipment studio in Merseyside and we’ve recently been recommended by The Sunday Times Style Magazine for our Tower workouts.
22 years on, my passion for Pilates has grown to include training weekends and workshops at the studio and also Reformer Retreats, a boutique luxury, pilates retreat business that teaches the very best pilates in the most beautiful places and spaces around Europe.
I am committed to learning, training and sharing the original works of Joseph Pilates and helping clients make that time to feel better, to move better and to look better.
My love of organising and event planning and passion for Pilates, travel, good food and archticture makes my progression into high end Pilates retreats a very natural one.
